The Rock to return to WWE soon for one major reason, believes former star: "Reportedly $30 to $35 million"

The Rock last appeared on WWE television at the conclusion of Bad Blood in Atlanta on October 5th. Former WWE star Jonathan Coachman believes The Final Boss is set to return soon, depending on the performance of his most recent film.

At the end of Bad Blood, The Rock made a surprise appearance to stare down Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes after they defeated Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in the main event. The message was unclear, but The People’s Champion might not be happy with the alliance between the OTC and The American Nightmare.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Coach and Bro Show on Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass, Jonathan Coachman discussed Dwayne Johnson’s’ latest movie called ‘Red One.’

It has a reported budget of $250 million but only earned $30 to $35 million in its first week. Coachman believes that if the film continues to flop at the box office, he won’t be surprised to see The Final Boss back on WWE television as soon as possible.

“Reportedly, $30 to $35 million week one, and normally, week one is the biggest week. So if this thing financially is a loss, we could see The Rock back,” Coachman said. [From 3:57 – 4:11]

‘Red One’ is a Christmas film written by Hiram Garcia and produced by Seven Bucks Productions. It also stars J.K. Simmons as Santa Claus, Chris Evans, and Lucy Liu.

The Rock shares his feelings about WrestleMania XL

WrestleMania XL’s main event was supposed to be The Rock vs. Roman Reigns, but Cody Rhodes’ popularity altered plans. It gave birth to The Final Boss character, which has been praised by many.

Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Rock was asked about the experience of returning to WWE. He wrestled on night one of the event, teaming up with Reigns to beat Rhodes and Seth Rollins in a tag team match.

“I had such a great time. Cody and Seth and Roman, it was just wild. I grew up in that world of pro wrestling. There’s nothing like when that music hits and the crowd goes crazy,” Rock said. [H/T: Fightful]

It will be interesting to see if The Final Boss returns to WWE just in time to build a storyline for him at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. There’s still no clarity on his availability for the biggest wrestling event of 2025.
