TMZ Host Provides Update Following Matt Riddle Altercation

Branson Quirke, host of TMZ, shared an update after a heated incident with wrestler Matt Riddle during a recent media appearance. On social media, Quirke confirmed what happened but assured fans he wasn’t seriously hurt, writing, “I’m okay, don’t worry, just needed a little ice pack on my face!” The clash unfolded while recording the TMZ Sports podcast, Inside The Ring.

The tension began when Quirke asked Riddle if he could knock out Jake Paul. He followed up with a remark that appeared to irritate the wrestler: “I feel like you’re kind of looking more so for a payday. No that’s not what I’m trying to say.” Riddle responded with a sharp, extended rant before the situation turned physical.

Riddle accused Quirke of being disrespectful and fired back: “This is the thing, I like—when people either say, ‘That’s not what I’m trying to say,’ or ‘No disrespect.’ When you f–king say something disrespectful. Let’s be honest, I’ve done your f–king s–tty podcast how many times? Three four f–king times? I’m not even f–king here to talk to you motherf–ker. I’m here to wrestle at MLW where I was the former World Champion. I’m about to be the f–king World Champion again. I don’t know why you bring up CM Punk, I get a bunch of f–king headaches all the f–king time.”

After standing up, Riddle confronted Quirke physically. A co-host was seen laughing on screen, and even Riddle cracked a smile during the scuffle. Still, he pressed on, yelling, “What are you f–king worried about? Yeah? Are you f–king serious? Take that s–t off. F–king tired of this s–t.”

Once the altercation ended, Riddle turned to another member of TMZ, saying, “Hey, TMZ — Charles Harvey, thanks for having me, bro. Hopefully, you bring me back. But, [I am] tired of all the bulls–t questions.”

It remains unclear if the incident was staged for entertainment or if it was a real confrontation.

The timing is notable: Riddle is currently active with Major League Wrestling and other independent promotions after leaving WWE a few years ago, returning to the circuit where he first built his name.
