The wrestling world is grappling with serious allegations of domestic violence against TNA star Masha Slamovich, brought forward by her former partner, independent wrestler AKIRA. The accusations, supported by screenshots of alleged text messages and photos of injuries, became public on Tuesday and quickly escalated. Now, TNA Wrestling has issued an official response.
On Tuesday night, a spokesperson for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling confirmed to The Takedown on SI that the company is addressing the matter. In a brief statement, the promotion declared: “We take any allegations like this very seriously, and have begun an internal investigation.”
The investigation was prompted by a social media post earlier that morning from a friend of AKIRA. The post included screenshots of alleged text conversations and images appearing to show injuries, including facial bruises. In one exchange attributed to Slamovich, she allegedly wrote: “You cursed at me — that’s why you got hit. Again, cool to see you claim intelligence and can’t see metaphor.”
Later that afternoon, AKIRA (real name Alexander Atkisson) released his own lengthy statement on social media. He claimed he had attempted s—cide three times during the relationship and described a damaging dynamic: “I gave a lot with little in return. I had a lot of growing up to do and despite my progression I was always told I was never doing enough.”
These developments come at a pivotal moment for Slamovich’s career. The former Knockouts World Champion is scheduled to challenge Ash by Elegance for the title this Friday, September 26, 2025, at Victory Road.
The Takedown on SI reported that it had reached out to Slamovich (real name Anna Khozina) for comment but had not received a response at the time of publication.
Despite the painful details in his statement, AKIRA concluded with a message of detachment: “I’m not angry. I’m not sad. Not anymore. I’m apathetic. I’ve moved on and there’s still bitterness in my stomach I don’t let it guide me… Whatever happens, happens.”
