In an interview with TVInsider, TNA President Carlos Silva spoke about the company’s growing collaboration with WWE, particularly the crossover with the NXT brand. He described the partnership as smooth and cooperative, leading into the WWE NXT Showdown this Tuesday in Orlando.
“Working with the NXT folks as well as WWE folks has been very easy. There has been great coordination,” Silva said. “We’ve supported each other with last-minute asks on both sides, which I think is a testament to a good partnership. It’s not just one asking. We might ask, or they might ask, and we always find a way to move things forward.”
The Showdown special has become a centerpiece of the alliance, adding intrigue with wrestlers carrying titles from one company while competing for the other. That’s fueled speculation about Joe Hendry, who has appeared on NXT but wasn’t selected for either Team TNA or Team NXT.
Addressing reports that Hendry might be shifting away from TNA, Silva clarified on the Battleground Podcast. When asked if Hendry was still under contract, Silva confirmed: “Yes, he is. You know, he is until he’s not. But he is. Joe’s been great for us. Joe’s been great with WWE and NXT. We’ll continue to sort of work through that as good partners do.”
While the crossover garners attention, TNA is also building toward its own major show. Bound for Glory takes place next weekend, headlined by Trick Williams defending the TNA World Championship against Mike Santana. Kelani Jordan will also put the Knockouts World Championship on the line against Indi Hartwell.
Silva noted that these events highlight TNA’s momentum beyond WWE ties, boosted by upcoming business moves. He revealed that the company is in active talks with a new U.S. broadcast partner. The NXT Showdown, he said, is another “big amplifier” for the brand, with hopes of announcing a new TV deal alongside TNA’s 2026 first-quarter schedule.
