Tony Khan Bars Ex-WWE Star from AEW Matches After Recent Issues

Ric Flair joined AEW in October 2023 as Tony Khan’s gift for Sting’s retirement tour. AEW signed Flair to a multi-year contract, which included a sponsorship deal for his Wooooo! Energy drink brand.

Flair accompanied Sting and Darby Allin during the final phase of The Icon’s career, participating in Sting’s match at Revolution 2024. The energy drink sponsorship deal has now concluded, with Flair addressing his limited involvement during an appearance on the GabbyAF podcast.

I could manage, but… man, when Sting retired in Greensboro when we had that huge crowd, he was begging me, he must have asked me ten times, ‘Please do not get in the ring and cut yourself!’ Right? So, and then of course Darby Allin went through that d**n glass plate, and I got covered. That was real glass, you know? I got covered in glass, I was bleeding everywhere
