Tony Khan Confirms Top Champion for AEW Dynamite Despite Injury Rumors

AEW President Tony Khan has confirmed that ROH World Champion Bandido will compete on the upcoming AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday, despite dealing with a shoulder injury suffered during a recent title defense. The announcement ends speculation about his availability for the event.

The injury happened on October 3, when Bandido defended his title against Hechicero at a CMLL show. During the match, his shoulder dislocated. Bandido quickly popped it back into place himself and pushed through to finish the contest.

Khan addressed the situation on X after Brody King expressed hope that their scheduled match would go ahead. In his response, Khan assured fans that Bandido intends to fight through the pain and appear on the show.

In other roster news, former AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida revealed on her YouTube channel that she has re-signed with the company. Shida last appeared on AEW television on November 20, 2024, but has stayed active in Japan, most recently wrestling for OZ Academy on September 7.

She also confirmed her U.S. visa has been renewed, addressing rumors about her career. “Many fans have asked me ‘are you retiring, or just playing?’ Of course it’s just play, I’m not retiring. I just renewed my visa and contract,” she said.

More updates on Bandido’s condition and his status for Title Tuesday are expected in the days ahead.
