Hours before tonight’s Death Before Dishonor, Tony Khan has officially unveiled the full tournament bracket to crown the inaugural ROH Women’s Pure Champion. The announcement confirms the lineup for the historic tournament, which had been postponed for months due to roster injuries.
The tournament, first planned by Khan in April to expand opportunities within the division, features a lineup of prominent names from women’s wrestling. The first-round matchups are as follows:
- Taya Valkyrie vs. Queen Aminata
- Deonna Purrazzo vs. Trish Adora
- Billie Starkz vs. Olympia
- Serena Deeb vs. Yuka Sakazaki
The road to crowning the first champion will begin immediately. The tournament’s opening match, pitting Taya Valkyrie against Queen Aminata, is scheduled to take place live tonight during the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
The addition of the tournament’s first match finalizes a card for Death Before Dishonor that has undergone significant changes. The event has already seen two championships vacated due to an injury to Dustin Rhodes, which will lead to new champions being crowned for both the ROH World Tag Team and World Six-Man Tag Team titles.
