The echoes of shattered tables and steel chairs will give way to pointed words. AEW has confirmed that TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher and his manager, Don Callis, are scheduled to speak on the September 6 edition of AEW Collision.
The announcement is a direct consequence of the events that closed the September 3 episode of AEW Dynamite. Following an eight-man tag team match victory, Fletcher led a brutal assault on Kenny Omega and “Hangman” Adam Page. The attack culminated with Fletcher executing a brainbuster on Page onto an open steel chair, followed by a second brainbuster to Omega from the ring apron through a table on the floor.
This on-screen violence was constructed to serve a dual purpose. It facilitates a pre-planned and long-standing period of absence for Kenny Omega, who is reportedly managing lingering pain and has a scheduled trip to Japan.
Simultaneously, the angle functions as a significant elevation for Fletcher within the company hierarchy. By being positioned as the instrument of Omega’s removal, Fletcher’s standing as a top heel is solidified, further cementing The Don Callis Family as a dominant force and positioning them directly against AEW World Champion “Hangman” Page.
Their upcoming promo on Collision will be the platform to address the fallout from their definitive statement.
