AEW star Bandido has suffered a dislocated shoulder during a title defense in CMLL, casting doubt on his scheduled tag team match alongside Brody King on an upcoming Dynamite.

Top AEW Champion Could Be Sidelined After Injury

AEW star Bandido confirmed he suffered a dislocated shoulder during his successful defense of the ROH World Championship at CMLL’s Viernes Espectacular on October 3. The injury happened in a 23-minute match against Hechicero, where Bandido retained his title but needed medical attention afterward. The setback immediately casts doubt on his availability for upcoming AEW shows.

After the match, Bandido addressed fans on Instagram. He shared a photo of his arm in a sling and wrote: “My apologies to the CMLL Fanbase. My shoulder popped out and popped back into place. Thank you Hechicero for always being a Gentleman. We owe a third one to our Mexican Fanbase.” The match marked the second clash between the two, following their first meeting at Death Before Dishonor in August.

The timing is critical. AEW had already announced a high-profile tag match for Dynamite, with Bandido teaming with Brody King as “Brodido” against Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada. The bout was pitched on-air by Don Callis after a previous Brodido appearance. With Bandido sidelined, the match’s future is uncertain.

Bandido last wrestled for AEW at All Out on September 20, competing alongside Brody King in a four-way ladder match for the AEW Tag Team Championships. His recent work in both AEW and CMLL underscored his position as a champion across multiple promotions.

Meanwhile, AEW continues to shape its upcoming cards. Dynamite will feature a Street Fight between The Demand’s Ricochet and GOA against The Hurt Syndicate’s MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin. TBS Champion Mercedes Moné has also issued an open challenge, specifically asking for a Florida-based opponent.

Collision on October 4 will showcase Eddie Kingston vs. Dralistico, Kingston’s first televised singles match since returning. The show will also see Kevin Knight face a member of FTR, though it remains unconfirmed whether his opponent will be Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler, or Stokely Hathaway.

What happens next for the ROH World and AEW Tag Team titles remains to be seen. Stay tuned to Wrestling Noticias for updates on Bandido’s condition.
