Talla Tonga made an immediate statement in his WWE in-ring debut on the August 1 edition of WWE SmackDown. The imposing new member of Solo Sikoa’s faction secured a dominant victory over his own family member, Jimmy Uso, on the final show before SummerSlam.
The match showcased Tonga’s power, as he largely withstood Jimmy Uso’s offense throughout the contest. After Uso managed to hit a spear, he ascended the ropes for an Uso Splash, but Tonga caught him mid-air by the throat and delivered a chokeslam for the decisive pinfall win.
The aftermath of the match quickly shifted focus to SummerSlam. As a steel cage lowered around the ring, Jacob Fatu rushed down to confront the New Bloodline iteration, fighting them off and staring down Solo Sikoa ahead of their United States Championship cage match.
Tonga’s arrival and immediate push come as WWE reshuffles The Bloodline. With Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa sidelined by injuries, Talla Tonga’s debut positions him as a key figure in the faction’s new direction alongside Solo Sikoa.
