Triple H Makes Major Announcement About WWE on Netflix

WWE will begin airing live content on Netflix India starting Tuesday, April 1, as part of the company’s strategy to expand in one of their largest international markets. This announcement follows WWE’s broader global partnership with Netflix for content distribution.

Triple H, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, confirmed the launch date on social media alongside a promotional vignette.

April 1… @WWE brings the biggest moments and the brightest stars to India … LIVE on @netflix. #GetReady

WWE has maintained a significant presence in India since first touring the country in 1996. The company formed a partnership with Sony Pictures Networks in India in 2002, which has been a central component of their distribution strategy in the region.

India represents one of WWE’s largest markets globally, with the country’s population of nearly 1.5 billion providing substantial growth potential. WWE previously showcased this market’s importance by producing Superstar Spectacle in January 2021, which aired on Republic Day in India and attracted 20 million live viewers from the country.

The Netflix streaming agreement has fueled discussions about potential WWE premium live events being held in India. WWE has expressed interest in hosting more live events in the country as part of their international expansion efforts.
