Ahead of her Toronto tag match at Elimination Chamber, Trish Stratus discusses her criteria for WWE returns and celebrates her 25-year milestone with the company.

Trish Stratus Explains Real Reason Behind WWE Return

Trish Stratus will return to the ring this weekend in Toronto, partnering with Tiffany Stratton against Nia Jax and Candice LeRae at WWE Elimination Chamber. This appearance follows her surprise entry in the WWE Women’s Royal Rumble earlier this month, marking her first in-ring performance since September 2023.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Stratus explained her purposeful approach to WWE comebacks.

If there’s opportunities, I’m up for it. I have to check a couple boxes to make sure it makes sense. [Is it] good for whoever I’m working with? Does it make sense for that person? Is it something that will help them? I always want to make sure it’s not just self-centered, for me to come back and just get my own little, cheap pop.

Stratus mentioned that while WWE would welcome her return on a full-time basis, she chooses to limit her appearances to maintain focus on other aspects of her life. Her current return aligns with celebrating 25 years with WWE, making her among the first women to reach this milestone.

I thought that was really cool, that they wanted to celebrate the 25 years. It was kind of like, ‘There could be an opportunity in Toronto. How do we reserve-engineer and get you there?’

The narrative for her Elimination Chamber match developed during the Royal Rumble when Stratus eliminated LeRae before Jax ultimately eliminated the Hall of Famer. Now, she teams with Stratton, who prepares to defend her WWE Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 41.
