Contrary to recent social media speculation, WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella has not been “banned” from the company. A report from Fightful Select clarified that the rumors are inaccurate, stating the reason for her absence from programming is simply that she has not been utilized creatively.
The speculation gained significant traction following comments Brie made on “The Nikki & Brie Show” podcast in July 2025. She identified her husband Bryan Danielson’s contract with AEW as a “roadblock” to a potential WWE return, explaining her belief that some within WWE feel “uncomfortable” with the situation. Brie noted that while it could be frustrating, she held no anger and accepted it as a sign to focus on her life outside the ring, which she termed her “Soft Girl Era.”
While Brie has stepped away, her sister Nikki Bella continues to push for a Bella Twins reunion. In an August 27 interview with Sports Illustrated, Nikki confirmed she is actively advocating for her sister’s return, a sentiment she says is shared by many of the women on the roster.
Acknowledging the complexities of the situation, Nikki stated, “I don’t think legacies should be determined on spouses, but I also understand business.” She added a hopeful note, suggesting that WWE is “becoming more and more open” to the idea of Brie coming back, though it will take time to resolve the business aspects.
