An official update on Roman Reigns’s condition will be provided on today’s episode of WWE Raw, broadcasting live from Paris. The announcement was made by Raw General Manager Adam Pearce following the attack Reigns sustained after his match at Clash in Paris.
Reigns opened the premium live event with a victory over Bronson Reed, culminating a weeks-long feud that saw Reed steal Reigns’s signature shoes. After the match, however, Reigns was ambushed by both Reed and his Vision stablemate, Bron Breakker. The two men delivered multiple Spears and Tsunami splashes, leaving Reigns to be carried out of the arena on a stretcher.
The storyline injury was designed to write Reigns off television for approximately four weeks. He is scheduled to begin filming his role as Akuma in the upcoming Street Fighter movie, with production starting on September 2. WWE previously announced that Reigns would undergo an MRI and X-rays to assess the extent of his storyline injuries.
In addition to the update on Reigns, Adam Pearce announced two new matches for the Paris show. The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) will face The Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez. Also, after weeks of being outnumbered by The New Day and Grayson Waller, Penta will team with the War Raiders (Erik and Ivar) to take on the trio of Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Waller.
These matches join a previously announced card that includes Dominik Mysterio defending the Intercontinental Championship against AJ Styles. The show will also likely feature fallout from Becky Lynch joining The Vision after she interfered to help her husband, Seth Rollins, retain the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash in Paris.
