Update on Saraya’s Departure from AEW

The wrestling world got a surprise today as Saraya is officially done with AEW. The former Women’s World Champion will announce her exit on her new “Rulebreakers With Saraya” podcast premiering March 27th.

Entertainment Weekly first broke the story, with Saraya quickly confirming on Twitter that the split was mutual between both parties.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, almost nobody in AEW saw this coming. Saraya reportedly only told a few select people about her departure as recently as last week.

Her management team confirmed to Fightful that “we’ve mutually agreed to part ways. Her services have been fulfilled and we are parting on excellent terms.”

Saraya’s team also stated that she’s now a free agent looking to step away from wrestling temporarily. She’s been clear in recent interviews about focusing on outside projects, though she intends to return to the ring eventually.

The timing has fans buzzing, especially since Saraya remains listed on AEW’s website despite the announcement. Wrestling moves fast, and this sudden departure definitely raises questions about what’s next.

WWE Return Possibility?

While Saraya focuses on life after AEW, wrestling fans are already connecting dots to a potential WWE comeback. Her departure timing is particularly interesting given recent comments.

During a recent appearance on Booker T’s Hall of Fame podcast, Saraya mentioned she’d consider returning to WWE if the opportunity made sense.

I’m here to tell you that me and AEW’s relationship has come to an end. I had an amazing time there. There’s no bad blood between us. I had such a magical time

It’s just me thinking that I just don’t fit in right now. I feel like I might be taking someone else’s spot, someone who could be doing something really special.

With no non-compete clause mentioned, could we see Saraya back in a WWE ring before summer? Only time will tell where this free agent lands next.
