Vince Russo thinks Sami Zayn has romantic feelings for Jey Uso

Former WWE creative writer Vince Russo raised eyebrows when he suggested a potential romantic storyline between Sami Zayn and Jey Uso. Speaking on Jonathan Coachman’s Behind The Turnbuckle YouTube channel, Russo interpreted Zayn’s intense reaction to Jey’s backstage attack on RAW as a sign of deeper feelings.

Zayn confronted General Manager Adam Pearce after Jey required medical attention following the attack. Initially suspecting Seth Rollins, Zayn’s protective response caught Russo’s attention, who shared his theory during the show’s discussion.

“Based on this last Monday’s show, I believe Sami Zayn is in love with Jey Uso. When you are a grown man saying, ‘You can’t talk to him like that.’ Bro, I’m telling you that story is going to develop,” Russo explained at the 42:03 mark of the show.

This wasn’t Russo’s first mention of the potential storyline. He previously took to X (formerly Twitter) to express similar thoughts: “Seriously—does Sami Zayn have a crush on Jey Uso? Not that there’s anything wrong with that.”

Drew McIntyre’s involvement in the situation became apparent when he delivered a Claymore to Jey Uso at the end of RAW. The attack opens the possibility of a new rivalry, potentially leading to Zayn and Uso joining forces against The Scottish Warrior.
