Wrestler Misterius suffered a cervical sprain and fractured collarbone during a recent match in Mexico. The injury occurred while performing at Hijo del Santo’s farewell tour on February 22 in Aguascalientes.
The incident happened when Misterius attempted to execute a Spanish Fly maneuver, but the rope snapped, causing him to fall badly. According to Wrestling Observer, the Mexican wrestling star sustained the serious injuries as a direct result of this accident.
An ambulance was called to transport the injured wrestler to the hospital, with police also arriving at the scene. Despite the serious nature of the incident, the show continued following Misterius being taken for medical attention.
Initial rumors circulated that Misterius had suffered paralysis from the fall, but these reports proved to be false. The wrestler landed head-first onto the mat during the failed move.
According to a report from Mex.News, Misterius stated he was doing fine and expressed gratitude for the prompt medical care he received. He also clarified that he had not requested financial assistance, as Hijo del Santo and LA Park were helping to monitor his needs.
