Why Roman Reigns Wore Two Ula Fallas At WWE Clash In Paris

Roman Reigns wore two Ula Falla necklaces for his opening match at Clash in Paris today. According to an explanation from Michael Cole on commentary, the gesture was a tribute to his father, Sika Anoa’i, and his uncle, Afa Anoa’i.

Reigns wore his traditional red Ula Falla alongside a new black one to honor the two men, who were foundational figures in the Anoa’i wrestling family. Sika passed away just over two months ago, while Afa passed away last year. The duo, famously known as The Wild Samoans, appeared at Hell in a Cell in 2020 to officially bestow the Ula Falla on Reigns, marking the beginning of his run as The Tribal Chief.

The tribute carried extra weight given Reigns’ recent feud with Bronson Reed, which involved Reed and Paul Heyman parodying the sacred necklace as the “Shoe-la-falla.” Reigns defeated Reed in their match earlier this evening.

Later tonight, Reigns is scheduled to accompany his cousin, Jey Uso, to ringside for the Fatal 4-Way main event for the World Heavyweight Championship. On Raw, Reigns mentioned that Jey had a contractual rematch clause for the title.
