Will Ospreay has addressed WWE fan criticism during a recent appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast. The AEW star responded to detractors with unfiltered comments about how reception to his work would be different if he had chosen WWE over AEW.
No, but if I had gone there, they’d be f*cking wanking into tissues over me.

Ospreay, who signed with AEW at Full Gear 2023 after being courted by both WWE and AEW, explained why he doesn’t let criticism from fans affect him professionally or personally.
You have to separate it, otherwise you drive yourself insane. Wrestling is my passion and my job. If you have something that you are passionate about, you really don’t care what people are saying who have never impacted your career in your entire life.

The former two-time AEW International Champion also highlighted AEW’s success in the wrestling industry despite external criticism.
Even if they say something, they’re not impacting our show, the second most profitable wrestling company of all time. That’s not talked about enough and everyone wants to dig at it.
Ospreay recently competed against Kyle Fletcher inside a steel cage at AEW Revolution. During the interview, he mentioned his openness to constructive feedback while dismissing most online criticism.
If you give me criticism and points that I can work on, then I’ll try my best to work on it. I’m not going to get it right away, but I think that’s the stuff people need to speak more about.
