Will Seth Rollins Be At WWE RAW Tonight?

The status of top WWE star Seth Rollins has become a subject of intense speculation following an incident this past weekend, with conflicting backstage reports creating uncertainty about whether a potential injury is legitimate or part of an elaborate storyline.

The situation began during Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12, when Rollins faced LA Knight. The match concluded abruptly after Rollins landed awkwardly from a moonsault, appearing to injure his right knee. The finish was reportedly changed on the fly, with LA Knight securing the victory before Rollins was helped to the back by medical staff.

During a press conference on Sunday, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque addressed the matter, confirming the injury “doesn’t look good” and that Rollins was scheduled for an MRI on Monday in Birmingham, Alabama.

However, the narrative of a straightforward injury is complicated by insider reports. John Pollock of POST Wrestling stated that he was informed days before the event that an injury angle involving crutches was planned for Rollins to build toward SummerSlam. Veteran journalist Dave Meltzer noted that when he sought confirmation from WWE officials that Pollock’s report was mistaken, they would not deny it.

“Everyone is insisting that you know, that it was legit that he’s injured,” Meltzer explained, highlighting the conflicting information circulating backstage.

This has led to a third theory, proposed by wrestling analyst Bryan Alvarez, which attempts to reconcile the different accounts. Alvarez suggested that Rollins may have a pre-existing legitimate injury and that the dramatic spot on Saturday was a staged “cover” to write him off television for a short time.

“The reason these stories are conflicting is because he is hurt. But what happened on Saturday was a storyline, meaning he is hurt, but he did not get hurt on that spot,” Alvarez posited. “That spot was a cover for an injury that he has, which he will have worked on.”

This scenario would allow for a surprise return, a development that aligns with what Meltzer had heard about plans for Rollins’ Money in the Bank cash-in to “come out of nowhere.”
