WrestleMania is officially going international. A press release, distributed in Arabic and quickly withdrawn, has confirmed that WrestleMania 43 will be held in Saudi Arabia in 2027, marking the first time the company’s biggest show of the year will take place outside of North America.
Though the release was pulled, multiple outlets have since verified the information is accurate. The move was also publicly referenced by Saudi official Turki Al Al-Sheikh, signaling the Kingdom’s commitment. According to PWInsider.com, a formal announcement from WWE is expected “very soon.”
TKO’s Global Site Fee Strategy
This historic move is the direct result of a new financial model being implemented by WWE’s parent company, TKO Group. President Mark Shapiro has made it clear that the company is adopting a Formula 1-style approach, actively seeking massive site fees from cities to host its premium live events.
At a recent Goldman Sachs conference, Shapiro bluntly outlined the new philosophy that is driving these decisions. “Most important to me is cash. You know, cash. Cash kills,” he stated, positioning cities like London, Paris, and Riyadh in a bidding war for major shows.
The placement of WrestleMania 43 is the most significant outcome yet of TKO’s aggressive, cash-focused global strategy. With the 2026 Royal Rumble also set for the Kingdom, Saudi Arabia is now cemented as the international hub for WWE’s two signature events within a 14-month span.
