Wrestling veteran suggests heel turn for Cody Rhodes

WWE Hall of Famer Magnum T.A. envisions potential character shift for the Undisputed WWE Champion following recent developments with Kevin Owens.

Magnum T.A. has proposed a significant character change for Cody Rhodes following recent events at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The WWE veteran shared his perspective on Rhodes’ trajectory during the Straight Talk with The Boss podcast:

I can see Cody becoming a villain. I can totally see Cody becoming a villain because, at some point, he can only maintain that part of his persona for so long. He can probably be as hated as he has been loved.

Rhodes defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where he displayed behavior that some interpreted as potential character development. Despite retaining his title, Rhodes left the arena on a stretcher following an attack from Owens.

The aftermath of Saturday’s championship defense continues to unfold as Rhodes was photographed wearing medical equipment at his wife’s Atlanta facility. The Undisputed WWE Champion appeared at Brandi Rhodes’ Naked Mind Yoga and Pilates studio sporting a neck brace, evidence of the assault by former friend Kevin Owens.

The match conclusion saw Rhodes retain his title through controversial means, using a steel chair to secure victory. Owens responded with a post-match attack, executing a banned Piledriver that required Rhodes to be stretchered out. In the ensuing chaos, Owens took possession of the Winged Eagle WWE Championship and engaged in a physical confrontation with Triple H.

WWE medical staff has diagnosed Rhodes with axial compression of the cervical spine and cervical strain with spasm.
