Two new matches have been added to the lineup for tonight’s episode of WWE Raw. General Manager Adam Pearce announced that The Kabuki Warriors, Asuka and Kairi Sane, will face The Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez in a tag team match.
Additionally, a six-man tag team match will see The New Day’s Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston team with Grayson Waller to take on Penta and the War Raiders, Erik and Ivar. This match comes after weeks of Penta being at a three-on-one disadvantage against the trio of Kingston, Woods, and Waller, which resulted in Penta losing a singles match to Kingston on last week’s episode.
The storyline was further addressed in a social media video posted on August 31 by Xavier Woods. While sidelined with a neck injury, Woods taunted Penta for being alone on Raw, pointing out that his brother and tag team partner, Rey Fenix, is on the SmackDown brand. Since the Lucha Brothers arrived in WWE earlier this year—Penta on Raw in January and Fenix on SmackDown in April—the decorated tag team has been kept on separate shows. Woods’ comments were the first on-screen acknowledgment of their separation, leaving fans to speculate if Fenix might eventually appear to even the odds. For tonight, however, Penta has found allies in the War Raiders.
