WWE analyst Peter Rosenberg has floated a specific matchup for a potential Saturday Night’s Main Event headliner. He suggested Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena should face the 60-time champion R-Truth on the special event.
This proposal follows recent on-screen developments involving both superstars. At the Backlash premium live event, R-Truth intervened during Cena’s title defense against Randy Orton, effectively aiding Cena in retaining his championship.
Later, at the post-Backlash press conference, R-Truth’s supportive comments took a turn when he mentioned fan criticisms of Cena’s in-ring skills. This led to Cena putting R-Truth through a table with an Attitude Adjustment.
Speaking on his Cheap Heat podcast, Rosenberg elaborated on the idea. “Well, the R-Truth thing, that’s perfect Saturday Night’s Main Event booking. That’s like a perfect Saturday Night’s Main Event main event,” he stated.
The blend of R-Truth’s character with Cena’s champion persona, amplified by their recent physical confrontation, presents a unique storyline. Such a match could offer an engaging main event suitable for the distinct format of Saturday Night’s Main Event.
