WWE and AEW set for major showdown as three pay-per-view events scheduled to go head-to-head in 2025, including Double Or Nothing weekend.
AEW and WWE are set to clash with three major pay-per-view events in 2025. According to Peacock’s recently released schedule for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, two shows will directly compete with AEW programming.
The schedule reveals WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XXIX on May 24 and XL on July 12. These dates align with AEW’s traditional Double Or Nothing weekend and the newly announced All In: Texas 2025.
Additionally, WWE Vengeance Day 2025 is scheduled for February 15, the same day as AEW Grand Slam: Australia.
Potential matches for Next WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event
Several high-profile matches could headline WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in San Antonio on January 25. After RAW’s Netflix debut, CM Punk and Gunther might clash for the World Heavyweight Championship. The Ring General’s reign could face its toughest test against the Best in the World.
Other possibilities include Roman Reigns defending against Kevin Owens following their recent confrontation, Rhea Ripley putting her Women’s World Championship on the line against a returning Becky Lynch, or Tiffany Stratton defending her newly won WWE Women’s Championship against former ally Nia Jax.
