WWE and TNA May Be Planning Historic Crossover Match for WrestleMania 41

WWE’s recent partnership with TNA Wrestling has created opportunities for unique cross-promotional matches. The Hardy Boyz made their first WWE appearance as a team since 2019 on this week’s NXT, facing No Quarter Catch Crew and setting the stage for potential bigger opportunities.

Matt and Jeff Hardy are now scheduled to challenge Fraxiom for the TNA World Tag Team Championship at the upcoming NXT Roadblock event. Their return to WWE programming after years away immediately sparked speculation about their future involvement, particularly on the main roster.

The RAW tag team division has struggled to maintain consistent storylines over the past year. Finn Balor and JD McDonagh held the World Tag Team Championships for an extended period with limited televised defenses before dropping the titles to The War Raiders (Ivar and Erik).

This situation creates an opportunity for Triple H to revitalize the division by potentially bringing the Hardys to RAW following their NXT appearances. Their established star power and connection to TNA could lead to the introduction of TNA’s signature match type – the Ultimate X match – at WrestleMania.

The Ultimate X match, a high-flying contest featuring a giant X structure suspended above the ring from which a prize hangs, originated in TNA Wrestling. This format would showcase The Hardy Boyz’ high-flying abilities while creating a historic WrestleMania moment through the first-ever Ultimate X match on WWE’s premier event.

Should WWE pursue this direction, the match would likely feature multiple teams to enhance the spectacle and fully utilize the unique match format. This approach would simultaneously highlight the cross-promotional partnership while spotlighting one of wrestling’s most celebrated tag teams on WWE’s biggest stage.
