During the February 10 episode of RAW, WWE provided an update on Sami Zayn’s condition following Kevin Owens’ vicious attack last week. Michael Cole announced that Zayn sustained a spinal contusion and extreme nerve damage from the incident.
The injury occurred after Zayn’s Elimination Chamber qualifying match against CM Punk. Following their post-match handshake, Owens launched a surprise attack, knocking Punk out of the ring before executing a package piledriver on Zayn.
The assault stemmed from Zayn’s perceived failure to assist Owens during his ladder match against Cody Rhodes at Royal Rumble.
This development mirrors a similar situation from November, when Owens sidelined Randy Orton with a piledriver attack. Current storyline direction points toward a potential confrontation between Owens and Zayn at WrestleMania 41, scheduled for April 19 and 20.
