WWE big plans for 2025 amid Netflix partnership: "Expect a lot"
WWE executive confirms expansion of international premium live events in 2025 as company partners with Netflix for global distribution.
WWE will increase its international premium live events in 2025 as part of its new streaming partnership with Netflix, according to WWE Executive VP of Talent Relations and Head of Communications Chris Legentil.
“This year alone, we did more than half our (premium live events) outside the U.S. Look for more of that when we’re in partnership with Netflix because we’re going to be working with them hand-in-hand to select locations across the world where we can grow our audience and hopefully gain some subscribers for them,” Legentil said on the Sports Business Journal Sports Media podcast.
Under Triple H’s leadership, WWE has held several major events internationally in 2024, including Elimination Chamber in Australia, Backlash in France, Clash at the Castle in Scotland, and Bash in Berlin in Germany. Saudi Arabia hosted both King & Queen of the Ring and Crown Jewel.
The Netflix partnership begins with RAW’s debut episode on January 6, 2025, featuring matches including CM Punk versus Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns against Solo Sikoa, and Liv Morgan challenging Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship. John Cena and Travis Scott are also scheduled to appear.
