WWE cancels former AEW top star's RAW debut on Netflix
Plans change for WWE RAW’s Netflix premiere as both Penta El Zero Miedo and Becky Lynch’s scheduled appearances are called off.
Penta El Zero Miedo’s anticipated debut on WWE RAW’s Netflix premiere did not materialize on January 6. Despite recent vignettes featuring his signature mask teasing his arrival, the wrestler was absent from the show, which included The Rock’s return among other surprises.
Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer provided insight into the situation:
Penta originally had plans to debut on the show today. I heard a lot of things that were supposed to be on the show but didn’t end up happening.
Becky Lynch’s return also shelved
The changes extended beyond Penta’s situation, as Becky Lynch’s planned return was also canceled. Lynch, who was in the venue, was originally set to appear during the WWE Women’s World Championship match between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley.
The creative direction shifted when WWE opted to feature The Undertaker instead, who made his entrance on a motorcycle following the championship contest to celebrate with Ripley. Lynch’s last in-ring appearance dates back to May of the previous year, where she unsuccessfully challenged Liv Morgan for the WWE Women’s World Championship on May 27.
The alteration to Lynch’s scheduling appears temporary, as plans for her return remain active for the near future.
