WWE Confirms Announcement Date For Stephanie Vaquer’s New Opponent For The Vacant Women’s World Title

The WWE Women’s World Championship will not be decided at Clash in Paris. On Monday’s episode of RAW, General Manager Adam Pearce officially informed No. 1 contender Stephanie Vaquer that her scheduled title match at the premium live event has been canceled.

The decision is a direct result of the championship being vacated by Naomi on last week’s show following the announcement of her pregnancy. Pearce assured Vaquer that her status as the top contender remains secure, but stated he needed a week to find her a new opponent for the vacant title.

Though visibly disappointed with the change, Vaquer understood the circumstances and agreed to wait. Pearce noted that he already has a specific opponent in mind and will announce both the competitor and the new date for the championship match on the September 1 episode of RAW.

During an in-ring segment last week, an unhappy Naomi relinquished the WWE Women’s World Championship, vowing to return as soon as possible to reclaim the belt.

Stephanie Vaquer originally earned her title opportunity by winning a Battle Royal at the Evolution 2 event earlier this summer.
