WWE Confirms John Cena’s Remaining Matches Before Retirement

John Cena’s victory over Logan Paul at Clash in Paris tonight has officially kicked off the final countdown to the end of his in-ring career. Following the match, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque took to social media to confirm that Cena now has only eight matches left.

On X, Levesque posted, “Just… THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!! @JohnCena The final 8 is upon us…”

Cena’s farewell tour schedule is already taking shape for the remainder of the year. He has announced he will appear on SmackDown this Friday, September 5, in Chicago. His confirmed premium live event appearances include Wrestlepalooza in Indianapolis on September 20, Crown Jewel in Perth on October 11, and Survivor Series: WarGames in San Diego on November 29. His final match is scheduled for his hometown of Boston on December 13 at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII.

With Cena’s upcoming appearance on SmackDown, attention is turning towards a potential match with Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza. The rivalry was reignited earlier this month when Lesnar made a surprise return at SummerSlam on August 3, attacking Cena after his Undisputed WWE Championship match with Cody Rhodes. It was Lesnar’s first WWE appearance in two years.

Cena challenged Lesnar on the following episode of SmackDown, but the confrontation was put on hold for the event in Paris. According to reports from Dave Meltzer, the match against Lesnar was deliberately postponed to headline the upcoming September 20 premium live event in Indianapolis. This strategic decision positioned Logan Paul as Cena’s opponent for his final European match, while saving the higher-profile bout with Lesnar for a stateside show.
