The intense and personal war within the Anoa’i family is reportedly set for a major escalation at SummerSlam. According to recent reports, a “Blood vs Blood” match between cousins Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu is planned for the event.
To ensure the deeply personal conflict is contained, the bout is slated to take place inside a Steel Cage. The stipulation, first reported by Cory Hays of BodySlam.net, would prevent any outside interference from Sikoa’s faction or allies of Fatu, aiming to produce a definitive conclusion to their rivalry. The initial report of the match came from TC WrestleVotes, signaling a one-on-one collision between the two for WWE’s biggest summer show.
The buildup to this reported cage match will continue on tonight’s July 18 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, which will feature the advertised return of Jacob Fatu. His appearance is his first on the blue brand since being brutally attacked by Sikoa’s new group, known as The MFTs, on the July 4 episode. Fatu already made his presence felt at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12, saving his cousin Jimmy Uso from a beatdown by Sikoa and his stable.
This family feud ignited after Fatu, then the United States Champion, turned on Sikoa at Money in the Bank by preventing him from winning the ladder match. The betrayal stemmed from Sikoa adding new members to his version of The Bloodline without Fatu’s consent. This led to a title match at Night of Champions on June 28, where the debuting Hikuleo interfered to help Sikoa capture the United States Championship for the first time.
As this on-screen war unfolds, WWE reportedly has immense confidence in Jacob Fatu’s future. Reports from July 17 indicate the company has “elite level” plans to establish him as a top-tier star. This push includes a high-level merchandising strategy, often reserved for names like John Cena, featuring exclusive city-themed apparel designed in collaboration with local sports teams, underscoring the company’s belief in his main event potential.
