Former WWE head writer Vince Russo criticized the central storyline on this week’s Raw, arguing that the angle built around LA Knight and Jimmy Uso failed to capture audience interest.
The show’s narrative focused on Knight searching for a tag partner to face The Vision in the main event. Jimmy Uso was his target, though initially hesitant due to The Usos’ upcoming bout against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed at Wrestlepalooza. Tension with his brother Jey ultimately pushed Jimmy to accept the offer.
On Legion of RAW, Russo questioned why the storyline was positioned as the night’s hook. He dismissed the premise as lacking stakes for viewers. “The Jimmy, LA Knight, and Jey Uso story is supposed to be the thread throughout the show. I can’t possibly imagine if anybody cares if Jimmy Uso is or isn’t going to team with LA Knight,” Russo said. “Like seriously, who cares? If he says no, he says no. If he says yes, he says yes. There is no investment in this. Nothing.”
In the main event, the temporary team of Knight and Jimmy Uso fell to Breakker and Reed. After the match, the victors launched a beatdown until Jey Uso intervened to protect his brother. That rescue appeared to set up a fragile alliance between Jey and Knight, but the moment dissolved when Knight dropped Jey with a BFT to close the show.
Knight explained the attack in a post-show promo, framing it as payback for a Spear from Jey the week before. “Now we’re even, now we’re good,” Knight said, presenting the move as settling a score.
