WWE Fans Massively Back CM Punk’s Threats Against The Rock and John Cena

CM Punk addressed the newly formed alliance between John Cena and The Rock during the March 3 episode of RAW. The WWE Superstar marched to the ring and took the microphone to express his disapproval of the events that occurred at Rogers Centre on March 1.

The Best in the World focused his criticism on Cena’s alliance with The Final Boss, characterizing it as a betrayal of Cena’s previous principles. Punk later shifted his attention to Seth Rollins, who cost him the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match.

Sam Roberts discussed Punk’s comments on the RAW Recap podcast with Megan Morant. The analyst explained why the Buffalo crowd wanted Punk to verbally attack both Hollywood stars.

Because there’s nothing like CM Punk going after sacred cows. There’s nothing like CM Punk saying the things you are not supposed to say about the people you are not supposed to say it about. There’s something that feels dangerous. Even though John Cena is a part of WWE, and he’s one of the performers in WWE, there’s this thing where you go, ‘No, John Cena is royalty; you don’t wanna ruffle his feathers!’

Roberts further elaborated on why fans appreciate Punk’s willingness to challenge even the most prominent figures in WWE, including board members.

Even though The Rock is on a show, and The Rock is doing this, and The Final Boss is doing that, you go, ‘Aah, you don’t want to get The Final Boss upset. He is actually a member of the board of directors. You don’t wanna push the line too far,’ and CM Punk goes, ‘I’m happy to do it.’

The confrontational segment follows Punk’s elimination from the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match, where Rollins played a decisive role in his defeat. The tension between these competitors continues to build as WWE moves toward its upcoming premium live events.

Punk’s criticism of The Rock and John Cena’s alliance represents his first public comments on the situation since their alignment was revealed on SmackDown. The Buffalo crowd responded enthusiastically to his willingness to challenge WWE’s most established stars.
