WWE Hall Of Famer May Replace Popular Name On SmackDown After Recent Incident

The status of the WWE SmackDown commentary desk is uncertain after an on-screen incident involving Brock Lesnar. With Corey Graves sidelined following the attack, speculation has grown about his replacement. A WWE Hall of Famer has now publicly offered to step in.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame Podcast, Booker T made his intentions clear: “Look here man, I wanna send my condolences out to Corey Graves, and hopefully he can get himself back at some point, but if they need somebody to step in, I’m just a phone call away. You know me, I’m always available when I’m available.” (h/t Wrestletalk)

The offer comes after Lesnar attacked Graves during the opening segment of the September 19 episode of SmackDown. Michael Cole later updated viewers that Graves spent the night in the hospital and is now resting at home with a “screwed up” neck. No official timeline has been given for his return.

In the immediate aftermath, The Miz filled the color commentary role for the remainder of the broadcast. Booker T is no stranger to the desk, having recently substituted alongside Vic Joseph the week prior to the incident.

Booker reinforced his readiness with trademark flair: “My phone is always on, I’m like a doctor with a stethoscope. I’m ready to do this, I’m like the painter with the brush.”

With Graves out indefinitely after taking two F5s from The Beast, it remains to be seen whether WWE will accept Booker T’s offer.
