WWE Has Surprising Plans for Chad Gable

Sources indicate WWE and AAA are discussing a potential partnership that could see Chad Gable performing in Mexico during his storyline hiatus.

WWE Has Surprising Plans for Chad Gable

Chad Gable has taken a storyline break from WWE following a series of setbacks, including losses to Dragon Lee and a defeat in his pursuit of the Speed Championship. Before departing, Gable announced he would visit a mystery contact in Mexico, following directions provided by Dominik Mysterio.

According to Wrestling Observer Live’s Bryan Alvarez, there are discussions about Gable potentially appearing for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide during this period. Sources indicate that WWE and AAA may revive their partnership, which originally began in 1997.

Reports emerged in mid-2024 regarding talks between AAA and WWE NXT. The discussions centered on WWE’s interest in establishing stronger connections with promotions in Mexico and Puerto Rico, complementing their existing relationships with TNA, Pro Wrestling NOAH, All Japan, and GCW.

AAA’s Konnan previously noted that collaboration prospects had improved under Triple H’s leadership. This development follows AAA’s previous partnership with AEW, which ended when Tony Khan established a working relationship with CMLL instead.
