WWE Heavily Criticized Over Bron Breakker’s WrestleMania 41 Plans

Vince Russo has criticized the idea of Bron Breakker defending the Intercontinental Championship in a multi-man match at WrestleMania 41 in April. The former WWE head writer from the late 1990s shared his perspective during a recent episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Writing With Russo.

Breakker has held the Intercontinental Championship since defeating Jey Uso on October 21, 2024, on RAW. According to a recent report from WrestleVotes on Backstage Pass, WWE may be planning a multi-competitor match for Breakker at WrestleMania 41.

During his conversation with host Dr. Chris Featherstone, Russo expressed his disapproval of booking multiple competitors in one match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania.

You’re right, bro, because you know from past [WrestleManias] they wanna get as many people as they can on WrestleMania, and that will do nothing for nobody.

Russo’s comments reflect his opinion that a multi-man match would diminish the importance of both the championship and the competitors involved, based on his observations of past WrestleMania booking patterns.

WrestleMania 41 is scheduled for April 19-20, 2025, with no official announcement yet from WWE regarding Breakker’s match on the card.
