Official WWE Update On Cody Rhodes’ Wrestlepalooza Status

Triple H has officially announced that Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will return at WrestlePalooza to defend his title against Drew McIntyre.

Official WWE Update On Cody Rhodes’ Wrestlepalooza Status

After weeks of uncertainty surrounding his status, Cody Rhodes will officially be at WrestlePalooza. The confirmation came directly from WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who broke the news during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, locking in the American Nightmare for the September 20th premium live event in Indianapolis.

While promoting the show, Triple H definitively ended any speculation about the champion’s availability. “I’ll give you a spoiler right now—Cody will be back, Indianapolis for Wrestlepalooza,” he stated.

Rhodes’ return was in question following his absence from WWE programming to film the Street Fighter movie in Australia. He was written off television on the August 8 episode of SmackDown after being attacked by his confirmed WrestlePalooza opponent, Drew McIntyre. The announcement dismisses the need for a reported backup plan that would have seen McIntyre face Randy Orton at the event.

With Rhodes’ comeback now set, McIntyre’s recent diversion with Randy Orton is expected to conclude. The focus now shifts to how and when Rhodes will re-emerge, leaving fans to wonder if he will make his presence felt on SmackDown this Friday or wait for a direct confrontation at Gainbridge Fieldhouse with the man who took him out.
