For decades, WrestleMania has been an institution almost exclusively rooted in North America. That tradition is about to be shattered as WWE officially takes its biggest show on the road for a historic international outing.
In a major announcement, Triple H confirmed that WrestleMania 43 will emanate from Saudi Arabia in 2027, calling it a “special day” for pro wrestling. The move is the biggest step yet in the company’s partnership with the Kingdom, which was established under the “Vision 2030” agreement.
Interestingly, the official word from WWE came after the news was prematurely leaked by Saudi sports promoter Turki Alalshikh, who let the plans slip before the company was ready to make its own statement.
This landmark decision capitalizes on the global boom period WWE has experienced under the TKO umbrella, which has seen Triple H lead successful international tours. The company has held several premium live events in the country before, including Night of Champions in Riyadh earlier this summer, but nothing on the scale of a WrestleMania.
The immediate question this raises is who could possibly headline a show of this magnitude. According to recent reports, discussions are already underway for a potential in-ring return for The Rock, which could see the legendary superstar in the main event, creating a moment as monumental as the location itself.
