WWE planning return of major event for 2025
WWE considers holding Tribute to the Troops at U.S. military bases, returning to the show’s traditional format.
WWE plans to bring back Tribute to the Troops in its original format. The special show, which has been held since 2003 in honor of the Armed Forces, did not take place in 2024 but may return with a new approach in 2025.
During a Backstage Pass Q&A session, WrestleVotes revealed the company’s plans:
I tried to find out what happened with Tribute to the Troops. A source indicated they plan to go back to their roots. This could mean holding the show at military bases in the United States, as was done previously.
According to Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, the show was quietly suspended in 2024 due to Vince McMahon’s departure. Tribute to the Troops was strongly associated with the former CEO, with 2024 being the first year without any content related to the show.
