WWE Releases Andrade as Real Reason Finally Surfaces

Andrade’s second tenure with WWE has come to an abrupt and perplexing end, and new details are beginning to surface regarding the reasons for his sudden departure. This wasn’t a quiet parting of ways, but rather the result of a backstage incident that put a halt to significant creative plans.

According to a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, a disciplinary issue was the catalyst for Andrade’s exit. The incident led to him being sent home from a television taping several weeks ago, and he was not used by the company again.

“I’ve seen all the speculation everywhere and I don’t know the whole story but I do know it was a discipline thing,” Meltzer stated. “A couple of weeks ago there was a disciplinary thing and all I know is it was at a TV shoot and he was told to go home and he’s not been used since.”

While the specific nature of the incident remains unknown, Meltzer clarified what it wasn’t. “I was told it was not drug related, it was not alcohol related, it was not marriage related. Nobody would tell me what it was, but it was enough to be sent home.”

The fallout from the incident was immediate, forcing WWE to scrap a notable match planned for last month’s Clash In Paris event. The creative plan was for Andrade to team with Rey Fenix to take on members of The Wyatt Sicks, but the match was altered once he was no longer an option. Following him being sent home, the expectation among WWE personnel was that his time with the promotion was over.

Adding another layer to his departure, a separate report from BodySlam indicates that WWE had been trying to get in touch with Andrade for several weeks, but he was unreachable. This provides context for his recent absence and the move of his profile to the Alumni section on WWE’s official website.

This marks the end of a run that lasted less than two years, following his return as a surprise entrant in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble. After a previous exit in 2021 that led to a stint in AEW, his second chance with WWE concludes without a significant singles program.
