WWE Reportedly 'Assisting' Vince McMahon in Janel Grant Case

WWE and Vince McMahon file opposition to Janel Grant’s amended lawsuit submission, citing the former employee missed the June 11 deadline by 230 days.

WWE Reportedly ‘Assisting’ Vince McMahon in Janel Grant Case

WWE and Vince McMahon have filed formal opposition to Janel Grant’s attempt to submit an amended lawsuit. Grant, who originally filed her lawsuit in January 2024 alleging sexual harassment, trafficking, and emotional abuse against McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE, sought to modify her legal complaint with additional details.

According to legal documents, McMahon’s legal team submitted a 23-page response highlighting that Grant missed the established deadline for amendments by a significant margin. McMahon’s attorneys noted that the court-mandated cutoff date was June 11, 2024, and Grant’s team filed their amendment 230 days after this deadline had passed.

The response from McMahon’s legal team directly challenged Grant’s assertion that her case was “on hold” for nearly a year. McMahon’s attorneys stated this characterization was inaccurate, arguing that the actual pause lasted six months and that Grant’s legal representatives could have filed for an amendment by December 11.

Grant’s proposed amended lawsuit reportedly contains additional allegations against McMahon, including what are described as screenshots, voice recordings, and photos allegedly sent by McMahon to Grant.

WWE also responded separately with a 10-page document opposing the amendment. The company’s filing directly addressed Grant’s legal rationale for the late submission.

Grant does not, because she cannot, point to a single piece of information supposedly constituting ‘greater particularity’ that she could not have included in an amended complaint before the court-ordered deadline expired.

The case continues to develop as Grant awaits the court’s decision on whether her amended lawsuit will be permitted despite the missed deadline. The original lawsuit, which contains serious allegations against McMahon, Laurinaitis, and WWE, remains active while this procedural matter is resolved.
