WWE Reportedly Cancels Major Rumor-Matched Bout for Finn Balor at WrestleMania 41

Finn Balor’s path to WrestleMania 41 remains uncertain after a series of setbacks in early 2025. Following a Street Fight loss to Damian Priest on Netflix RAW in January, Balor suffered another defeat at Royal Rumble, preventing him from securing a spot at WrestleMania 41.

Balor’s latest opportunity came during last week’s RAW when he faced Seth Rollins in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying match. The result marked another unsuccessful attempt for Balor, effectively ruling out his participation in the upcoming premium live event in Canada on March 1.

Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter addressed recent speculation regarding a potential WrestleMania 41 match between Balor and AJ Styles. Wrestling insiders via Backstage Pass had previously reported plans for this first-time WrestleMania encounter between the former Bullet Club members.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reveals the match “isn’t booked right now,” despite prior reports suggesting otherwise. Currently, AJ Styles continues his program with Dominik Mysterio, securing a victory over him during the latest episode of RAW.
