WWE Reportedly Considering Sending Omos to Lucha Libre AAA

Despite a prolonged absence from television, WWE reportedly has significant plans for Omos. A new report from WrestleVotes indicates that the company is considering sending the giant to Lucha Libre AAA for an extended run, a move designed to build him as a special attraction while he remains under a WWE contract.

The strategy appears to mirror his successful excursion to Japan’s Pro Wrestling NOAH earlier this year. The objective is to establish Omos as a unique, global spectacle by having him compete in major international promotions that are partnered with WWE. This potential move follows WWE’s acquisition of AAA and would represent one of the most high-profile talent exchanges between the two promotions to date.

This plan comes just a month after Omos confirmed in a mid-June interview that he had signed a new multi-year contract with WWE. At the time, he noted he was training and working on new material, stating he would be ready for a return when the time was right. His last appearance in a WWE ring was during the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the episode of SmackDown preceding WrestleMania 40 in April 2024.

The blueprint for this strategy was laid in January 2025, when Omos made a surprise appearance in NOAH. During his brief but dominant run, he captured the GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Championship alongside Jack Morris. He vacated the title later that month, announcing he was returning to WWE, though a televised return has yet to materialize.
