WWE Reportedly Denied Major Request from Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre reveals WWE rejected his request to turn his famous “Bored at work. LOL!” tweet into official merchandise despite its viral success.

WWE has turned down Drew McIntyre’s proposal to transform his wildly successful social media post into official merchandise. The Scottish superstar had hoped to capitalize on what became one of wrestling’s most memorable viral moments from WrestleMania XL.
McIntyre confirmed on the anniversary of his famous tweet that WWE Shop rejected his pitch to create a t-shirt featuring his “Bored at work. LOL!” message. The post, which McIntyre shared during his World Heavyweight Championship match against Seth Rollins, has generated nearly 40 million views in the past year. McIntyre expressed his disappointment, stating:
Fact: I asked WWE Shop if they could make this a shirt. But I guess 39 million views and 34,000 retweets wasn’t enough for them to realize… Happy Anniversary anyway.
The viral moment added a unique layer to an already significant night for McIntyre at WrestleMania XL. While he defeated Seth Rollins to capture the World Heavyweight Championship, his celebration was cut dramatically short when Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract moments later, immediately ending McIntyre’s title run.
Despite WWE’s decision against producing the merchandise, the tweet has cemented itself as one of the most successful social media posts from any WWE performer, demonstrating the potential missed opportunity to capitalize on its popularity with fans.
Fact: I asked @WWEShop if they could make this into a shirt. But I guess 39m views and 34,000 retweets wasn’t enough for them to take notice…
