WWE is reportedly developing plans for a significant, week-long farewell for John Cena, culminating in his final match on December 13, 2025. According to a report by James Stewart, the company is seeking a substantial financial commitment from potential host cities.
Stewart’s report states: “John Cena’s Final Match is being planned for 12/13/25. WWE is looking for $1.5 million financial commitment from host cities, including Boston.”
The proposed “full week takeover” by WWE would commence on December 10, 2025. The schedule includes community events, followed by The Undertaker’s one-man show on December 11th.
A live broadcast of SmackDown would then take place on December 12th. The week would conclude with a Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th, which is expected to feature Cena’s retirement match. This indicates WWE’s intention to make Cena’s departure a major spectacle.
