WWE Reportedly Planning Impactful Return for Evolution

With WWE’s all-women’s premium live event, Evolution, just days away, Hall of Famer Michelle McCool has sparked speculation about a potential in-ring return. Responding to a post on X from the company asking fans who should appear in the show’s Battle Royal, McCool’s interaction fueled discussions about her participation.

However, the public tease contrasts with the current reality of the situation. In a recent interview, McCool confirmed that WWE has not contacted her about an appearance at the July 13 event in Atlanta. Her confirmation clarifies that while fan interest is high, no official invitation had been extended as of earlier this week.

During an appearance on WrestleSTAR, the former Divas Champion detailed her readiness to compete while acknowledging the lack of a call from the company.

“I’m always down to fight. I’m always ready. I have not been called, but I would love to do anything that they asked me to do. I think I got one more.”

McCool also mentioned that if a return were to happen, she would love to reunite with her former tag team partner, Layla.

Her potential one-night return comes during a period of renewed visibility within the company. McCool was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 41 weekend in April and is currently featured as a coach on the A&E reality series WWE LFG. While she has stated she is not interested in a permanent, weekly role, her recent activities keep her closely connected to WWE’s programming.

The Battle Royal at Evolution, which will grant the winner a future championship match, is already set to feature returning legends. So far, Nikki Bella and Trish Stratus are among the veterans slated to compete, setting a precedent for major names from the past to make an appearance.
