
WWE is reportedly planning to revive its Evolution premium live event, focusing exclusively on women’s wrestling. According to a report by PWN, the company aims to hold the second-ever all-women’s show on July 5 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut.
The media outlet shared the news with a brief statement regarding the planned revival.
WWE is looking to host an Evolution PLE in the near future. Everything on the schedule is still tentative, but it’s currently set for 7/5 at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. We will share more updates as things get confirmed, so stay tuned.
The first and only Evolution took place in October 2018 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. That groundbreaking event featured Nikki Bella challenging Ronda Rousey in the main event.
Despite positive reception from fans and performers, WWE never produced a follow-up to the inaugural show. Rumors of a potential second Evolution circulated in 2020, but those plans never materialized.
Several current WWE performers have publicly advocated for Evolution’s return over the years. Bayley has been particularly vocal about her desire to see the all-women’s premium live event return to WWE’s calendar.
The reported July 5 date would position Evolution between two major WWE premium live events – Money in the Bank on June 29 and SummerSlam on August 3.
WWE’s current women’s roster features significant star power across Raw and SmackDown, including champions Bayley, Nia Jax, Rhea Ripley, and IYO SKY, providing numerous possible match combinations for an all-women’s show.
The Mohegan Sun Arena previously hosted several WWE events, including Backlash 2005 and numerous episodes of RAW and SmackDown over the years.
WWE has not officially confirmed the return of Evolution, with the report noting that scheduling details remain tentative.
