A planned roster move that would have brought Joe Hendry to RAW has been abandoned following an executive decision within WWE. The creative direction, which would have positioned Hendry in a program with The Miz, was scrapped before reaching television.

According to Fightful Select, WWE executive Ariel Shnerer vetoed the creative pitch specifically because it called for Hendry to lose in his main roster debut. The rejection forced the creative team to pivot away from using the TNA performer despite substantial groundwork for the angle.

The original concept featured an initial defeat for Hendry that would serve as the launching point for an extended rivalry with The Miz. This program was designed to give Hendry the opportunity to work alongside one of WWE’s most established performers. Following the cancellation, creative shifted direction and reportedly placed Ethan Page in a nearly identical role within TNA itself.

This creative redirection represents just one of several situations contributing to reported dissatisfaction with Shnerer’s performance in recent months. Sources indicate the executive has also created tension within NXT, where certain roster members have requested he not be permitted in the locker room area. These requests reportedly weren’t based on personal conflicts but stemmed from the belief that locker room access “should be limited to wrestlers.”
