After a high-profile appearance at WrestleMania 41 where he assisted John Cena in his championship victory over Cody Rhodes, rapper Travis Scott has disappeared from WWE programming. The initial excitement of a major crossover star entering the wrestling world has faded, replaced by backstage frustration and canceled plans.
The core of the issue appears to be a significant clash between celebrity culture and the demanding nature of the pro wrestling business. According to a new report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the sentiment within WWE regarding Scott is not positive.
“He doesn’t like to commit to anything. He goes half-in, and tries other projects at the same time. And since he’s a personal client of Ari, everyone tried to accommodate until it just became too much to deal with.”
This account is reinforced by a previous statement from insider account WrestleVotes, which noted that Scott was “not a quick learner for the business.” Sources indicated that the rapper skipped several important training sessions, including preparations for a planned appearance at Money in the Bank in June 2025.
These commitment issues have led to tangible consequences. WWE has officially scrapped a major celebrity tag team match planned for SummerSlam that was set to feature Scott. The plans, which were a cornerstone of the event’s mainstream appeal, have been completely restructured, with the company pivoting to feature music star Jelly Roll in a confrontation with Logan Paul instead.
What was meant to be a landmark run for Travis Scott alongside John Cena now seems to be a one-off cameo. With WWE moving forward without him and no mention of his name since WrestleMania, the collaboration appears to be over before it ever truly began.
